Sexting is when a woman or man sends a sexually explicit photo to another male/female. This includes photos of someones underwear, nude pictures, rude messages and sexual videos. People tend to send these photos via social media sites such as Snapchat,Facebook,Instagram,WhatsApp and texting. Snapchat is mostly known for the use of nudes as when you send a photo the longest it can last is three seconds although the person receiving the image can snapshot it which means keep the photo forever with just a click of a button or download of an app.
When sending the explicit image to someone via these sites the data is still left meaning if someone were to hack in to the persons account or look at the data they could get the image and either sell it or post it for free on the dark web. The legal age of sending an inappropriate photo of yourself is 18, and if anyone under the age of 18 sends a nude photo of themselves to someone else then that is considered sharing child porn. That's why the police express that nobody sends a sexually explicit photo of themselves due to the dangers of the dark web and the photo being on the internet forever. A few reasons as to why someone may send a sexually explicit photo of themselves are:
This image is of texts sent between two people. The person holding the phone is the one initiating the sexts between them and the other person. In my opinion this photo clearly shows sexting. The language between the two people is relevant to how people of this generation speak to each other because nowadays people use slang when texting each other. In my opinion this image is effective at showing sexting and the pressures of it.
This photo is of a man taking a photo of his genitals and we assume that he is sending it to someone else. His creepy grin doesn't help the situation either it just further more proves that he is a creepy guy that is sending or streaming his genitals. This image is very effective at creating an image of someone sending a naked picture of themselves.
This photo shows someone inputting their password on to their computer. The password that has been typed in is a very long password showing that short passwords are easier to guess in order to get information. This is very effective because it shows that the public should have complex passwords to protect their information.
This image is of someone reaching in to take someones password. The word password is in red to highlight that it is the main focus of the image. Also the word password is around coding which can be found when looking through coding transcripts, therefore this shows that someone has gone to the length of going through hacking to get someones password. I think this image is quite effective but the concept could get lost with some age groups such as children and elders. This image is more of a thinking image you have to look at it for a while to get the concept but as for the other photos you get it right away or after a couple seconds.
This photo is of an iceberg with lots of different website logos on it. It's a diagram of what the normal web is and what the dark web is. The logos labelled on the dark web are proven sites that have been taken down by the FBI and uploaded back up. In my opinion this image shows the difference between the normal web and the dark web, this is because they have used an iceberg to symbolise that the dark web is underneath and dangerous like an iceberg is for people and animals.
This image shows another iceberg and shows the percentage of how much the internet is used. The shocking fact is that the deep/dark web uses 96% of the web and the normal web which everyone knows about and uses is only 4%. I think that this image is effective because it shows the facts although it could be better because some age ranges will not get the concept of this image.

- Being proud of your body and feel like you want to share it with others.
- Being in love with the other person and trusting them because of it.
A password protection is a security process that protects other people from gaining access to your private information such as bank details, age, email accounts and other certain information. A password is considered a un spaced sequence of characters which can include capitals at the beginning and numbers. A strong password is considered 16 characters, medium password 10 and a short password 5. It's commonly known that you should have a password that is long and unguessable. The police strongly recommend that every password you create is different or a little different from your last password. The most common passwords used by people around the world are mainly short and include a simple number sequence such as 1234. The most common include:
- Qwerty
- Qwerty1234
- Password
- 12345678910
- Princess
The target audience that doesn't have strong passwords are 30-45 and use phrases such as princess, baseball because they use things from their daily lives such as calling their child princess or activities that their child may do such as baseball, football, ballet etc. The reason as to why long complex passwords are good and recommended is because you don't want anyone to steal your information. This includes people who use the dark web as they steal such information as your bank details which they can sell to someone else and then that other person can take your money from your account. Even though it may take time to remember all the strong passwords you have for websites such as Facebook , Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter and every other social media and services you use. It's worth it.
The dark web is a collection of websites together, anyone can publicly use them and are accessible through servers. Although the IP is hidden therefore you cannot figure out who has set up said website in the dark web servers. Dark web sites hide their identity with a tool known as tor encryption tool. The dark web is like the normal world wide web except the websites created there are used for evil/illegal activities such as drugs, abuse, gambling,hacking, counterfeit, fraud, bitcoin and many others. The dark web makes up 96% of total internet use whilst 4% is the surface web which common folk use for Facebook, Google, Youtube etc.
The dark web has many websites that are similar to ours such as eBay they have a site known as silk road where illegal guns and drugs are sold. The first silk road was shut down by FBI in 2011, silk road 2.0 was shut down in 2014 and currently silk road 3.0 is online. Many other sites such as silk road sell things such as peoples private information, people, bitcoins, and they also have sites that stream all types of abuse such as paedophillia, snuff and many other disgusting things. Their are also websites where you can hire hitmen to kill someone for you. The dark web is obviously illegal and you can get many years in prison for using sites in the dark web. In conclusion the dark web is a horrible place for the most screwed up individuals and nobody should use it.
